Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Wazir is an Indian crime thriller film that was released in January 2016 under the banners of Vinod Chopra Films. Following the story of an unlikely friendship between an Anti-Terrorism Squad officer and a handicapped chess-master, the film features Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.When ATS officer Daanish Ali’s daughter, Noorie is killed during a shootout with a notorious terrorist, his wife is shattered and blames Daanish for her death. In a fit of anger, Daanish kills the terrorist in an encounter which infuriates his seniors as they wanted him alive for further intel. Daanish is suspended from his job. As grief-struck, Daanish is about to kill himself he meets with Pandit Omkar Nath Dhar who turns out to be Noorie’s chess teacher. As their lives are brought together in a peculiar twist, their fates seem to be intertwined with a darker conspiracy that had stained their lives.
